2024 Board of Education Evaluation

As per SD48 Board Policy 212 Evaluation of the Board of Education, the Board believes that their job performance should be evaluated prior to the end of the first year of the four year term and at any other time it is deemed to be helpful. During an earlier Board Meeting, the Board agreed that an evaluation will occur in the current school year (July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024). The current Board of Education was elected into their trustee positions in October, 2022. The Board of Education engaged in the SD48 Trustee Orientation in November 2022 and the BCSTA Trustee Academy in December 2022.

The Board of Education has called for a Board evaluation, aligned with SD48 Board Policy 212, at this time in order to ensure:

  1. Accountability to the district and the public in ensuring that the Board of Education meet the statutory requirements as specified in the School Act and that the roles and responsibilities in the district as specified by the Board are carried out in a satisfactory manner;

  2. Personal professional growth and development based on information from the Board, administrative staff, district employee groups and other educational partners in the district;

  3. Constructive and effective working relationships in maintaining productive communication with the staff and each other.
